Paranoia Android

I paid a visit to Paranoia Town today. It’s never a fun day out but I seem to keep going back for more! There isn’t much to see but it seems to get my heart racing and my head spinning! Today my boss told me he didn’t like my presentation. I’d spent weeks on it – I’d even made a model of my plans.

I knew I wasn’t on the same page by the look in his eyes. You know that look that causes the fine lines on a forehead to crinkle up? The rest of the presentation seemed to fly by like a lead balloon. I left the board room thinking ‘He must think I’m the dumbest employee he’s ever had and convinced he hated me. I slouched back into my desk chair and promptly googled ‘easy jobs’.

The lunch hour finally arrived and I exited the building!  It’s amazing what 10 deep breaths and a cup of coffee and five minutes can do! I remembered reading in 2 Timothy 4 the verse that encourages us to ‘keep our heads in all situations’. I quickly screwed it back on and found myself remembering that last week that I’d had a huge contract come in – it had blown our targets out of the water, and my boss had sung my praises to senior management. On reflection I’m just tired and that presentation wasn’t my best work but he didn’t actually say it was all bad. Silly emotions getting all het up. I’ve left Paranoia Town now and have reminded myself that keeping my head when I’m tired and emotional will help me avoid such unnecessary excursions!

“Don’t let it go to your head! You’re not as bad as they say you are! You’re not as good as they say you are! Keep your head in all situations”:
